Launching a Fuel Tank Hire Brand Built to Rank and Convert

For more than two years, Salt has partnered with Petro Industrial, an Australian manufacturer of bulk fuel storage, dispensing and fuel management systems. Our SEO, Google Ads, photography and videography work has driven consistent growth across the business. When Petro set its sights on scaling its hire division, we gave Petro Hire its own digital home.

The Challenge

Petro Hire was ready for a serious sales push, and its existing WordPress site was holding it back. The hire offer sat too close to the parent brand, the build was hard to update, and the site had no clear path from visitor to quote.

Petro’s goals:

  • Give Petro Hire its own identity, clearly separate from Petro Industrial while keeping the family DNA
  • Build a dedicated traffic stream through SEO and Google Ads
  • Turn site managers, fleet operators and procurement leads into hire enquiries
  • Support a growing sales team with a steady flow of quality leads

The Strategy

Petro Hire’s buyers are B2B decision makers aged 30 to 60 across mining, construction, power generation, transport, agriculture and remote sites. They are time-poor, often on site, and know exactly what they need. Every decision we made was built around getting them to the right information fast.

  • Separate brand, separate funnel. A standalone domain gives Petro Hire its own keyword strategy and its own Google Ads account, so Hire and Industrial never compete for the same clicks.
  • Family resemblance, green signature. We kept Petro Industrial’s rugged core identity and led with green, so the market instantly knows the difference between hiring and buying.
  • Information-rich and effortless to read. Clear heading hierarchy, short scannable sections and a six-item navigation. Buyers find tank sizes, compliance and delivery details in seconds.
  • Built to convert. “Get a Hire Quote” and the 1300 number sit above the fold and repeat at every decision point.
  • Search intent baked into the structure. Industry sections, tank range pages and FAQs answer the exact questions buyers type into Google.

What Salt Did

  • Custom web design built from the ground up around Petro Hire’s buyers, brand and sales goals
  • Custom web development on WordPress with an easy-to-edit backend, so Petro’s team can update content with ease
  • Bold industrial creative with a high-impact homepage that delivers wow factor and stays true to a heavy-industry audience
  • A clear user journey that moves buyers from trust signals (Australian manufacturer, compliant storage, nationwide delivery) through industries, the tank fleet, iPETRO fuel management, hire versus buy, a four-step hire process, compliance and the Consignment Tank Program, finishing on a quote
  • Enquiry forms and conversion tracking to measure every lead
  • SEO foundations across page structure, on-page content and FAQs
  • A dedicated Google Ads account and conversion-focused landing page for hire campaigns
  • Photography to bring the fleet and the Petro team to life

The Result

  • Custom designed, developed and launched within six weeks, with the client praising the quick turnaround
  • Petro Hire now stands as its own recognisable brand in the fuel storage market
  • A dedicated traffic stream now feeds SEO and Google Ads for the hire division
  • Every enquiry is tracked, giving Petro clear visibility over where their leads come from
  • Marketing campaigns are showing strong, measurable growth

The partnership keeps growing. Salt is now rebuilding the main Petro Industrial website to carry the same strategic thinking across the entire group.

Frequently asked questions about Salt's marketing services

Book a Strategy Call
What does Salt Agency actually do?

Salt is a performance and creative marketing agency in Brisbane. Salt builds the strategy, produces the creative, runs the media and reports on what it earned. One team owns the concept and the result.

What marketing services does Salt offer?

Websites, SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, organic social, photography and video, branding and design, and fractional CMO. CRM setup, tracking and landing pages are delivered inside wider engagements.

What size businesses does Salt work with?

Established businesses, typically mid-market to enterprise, with a committed marketing budget and a growth target attached. Salt keeps a short client list so every engagement gets senior attention.

Am I locked into a long contract?

Retainers run month to month. Website builds are project based with a fixed scope and a fixed price.

Who will I be working with day to day?

One account manager as the single point of contact, with the specialists delivering the work reachable directly. Decisions are made in hours.

How much does marketing with Salt cost?

Retainers start at $2,480+GST per month and website builds range heavily. Final investment depends on scope, channels and pace. Every proposal carries a fixed price with deliverables itemised.

Is Salt a performance agency or a creative agency?

Both, and the two are inseparable at Salt. Creative that cannot be measured and media with nothing worth running are equally ineffective. The same team owns both.

Does Salt only work with Brisbane businesses?

Salt is based in Albion, Brisbane, and works with clients across Australia. Discovery and strategy run in person for Brisbane clients and remotely elsewhere.

How long until I see results?

Paid search and paid social typically produce measurable results inside the first month. SEO compounds over six to twelve months. Every engagement reports on the first Tuesday of the month.

What happens after the first call?

Salt audits the accounts, website and competitors before a proposal is written. The findings are handed over either way. A proposal follows with fixed pricing and scope itemised.
