How Salt, a Brisbane marketing and creative agency, repositioned ACR Tech as the contractor behind a world-leading technology, with a brand, industrial website and search presence built to win Australia’s most complex coating removal projects.

The Challenge

ACR Tech delivers RPR induction coating removal on some of Australia’s most demanding assets, from coal terminals and mine sites to live gas pipelines and the Gabba’s light towers. The brand and website undersold all of it.

  • Identity blurred with the technology. The market linked ACR to RPR’s equipment, and many buyers didn’t realise ACR delivers the work end to end.
  • Invisible where buyers look. Contractors and asset owners search for sandblasting and paint removal. Induction rarely came up, and even jobs that specified the method struggled to find ACR.
  • Growth through the slow lane. Most work came through events, referrals and repeat clients, one conversation at a time.
  • Contractors hold the pen. Head contractors make most purchasing calls. Without a clear picture of the method, they default to what they know.
  • A capacity reality. Crews were already booked out, so the brief prioritised authority and awareness, with lead volume to follow as capacity grows.

The Strategy

Salt built the strategy around how ACR actually wins work: a contractor or asset owner sees the method in action, understands the benefit and asks for a quote. The website had to recreate that moment at scale.

Salt built the strategy around how ACR actually wins work: a contractor or asset owner sees the method in action, understands the benefit and asks for a quote. The website had to recreate that moment at scale.

  • Make ACR the “who” to RPR’s “what”. RPR owns the technology story globally. ACR owns delivery in Australia. The two sites cross-link and reinforce each other in search.
  • Lead with the hybrid capability. Induction-led removal, hazardous coating management, conventional surface preparation and coating application under one contractor. Fewer interfaces and less risk for the head contractor.
  • Show the method working. Video, site photography and plain-English explanations let buyers see induction in action within seconds of landing.
  • Organise by asset and industry. Pipelines, bridges, tanks, marine, offshore, buildings, mining and energy. Buyers find their exact problem fast.
  • Put local proof front and centre. Australian projects, recognisable partners like Monadelphous, Woodside and Viva Energy, and testimonials from asset owners like Gladstone Ports Corporation.
  • Meet the searches buyers already make. Target abrasive blasting, sandblasting and paint stripping queries, and present induction as the partner method that does the heavy lifting.
  • Authority now, lead volume next. Build brand, search presence and AI visibility while crews are at capacity, ready to scale enquiries when ACR is.

What Salt Did

  • Brand positioning and messaging defining ACR as Australia’s leading induction coating removal contractor
  • Custom website design and build, from research and UX architecture through to launch
  • Service pages for pipelines, buildings, marine, tanks, bridges, offshore and hazardous coatings
  • Industry pages mapped to how contractors and asset owners search
  • Case study system with sector filters, built so the ACR team can publish projects themselves
  • On-site content shoot, hero video and project photography
  • News and blog hub for educational articles and industry updates
  • Brand applications including workwear artwork
  • Technical SEO, analytics and Google Business Profile setup, plus CMS training for the team

The Result

The new site launched in May on a strong technical foundation. Then the search program switched on.

Within two months:

  • Organic traffic grew several times over, driven by non-branded searches for the services ACR delivers
  • Case studies and project pages among the top performers, including the Gabba light tower project
  • A leading share of voice in AI answers on induction coating removal across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, well ahead of the nearest competitor
  • Enquiries now arriving through the website from buyers discovering ACR for the first time

All while ACR’s crews stayed booked out. The foundation is ready for the next stage of growth.

“The feedback on the website has been great.”
Shannon Hobbs, Director, ACR Tech

What’s Next

With the foundation performing, Salt now runs ongoing LinkedIn, SEO and AI engine marketing for ACR. As ACR expands into laser coating removal, the content engine is built to carry each new capability to market.

Frequently asked questions about Salt's marketing services

Book a Strategy Call
What does Salt Agency actually do?

Salt is a performance and creative marketing agency in Brisbane. Salt builds the strategy, produces the creative, runs the media and reports on what it earned. One team owns the concept and the result.

What marketing services does Salt offer?

Websites, SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, organic social, photography and video, branding and design, and fractional CMO. CRM setup, tracking and landing pages are delivered inside wider engagements.

What size businesses does Salt work with?

Established businesses, typically mid-market to enterprise, with a committed marketing budget and a growth target attached. Salt keeps a short client list so every engagement gets senior attention.

Am I locked into a long contract?

Retainers run month to month. Website builds are project based with a fixed scope and a fixed price.

Who will I be working with day to day?

One account manager as the single point of contact, with the specialists delivering the work reachable directly. Decisions are made in hours.

How much does marketing with Salt cost?

Retainers start at $2,480+GST per month and website builds range heavily. Final investment depends on scope, channels and pace. Every proposal carries a fixed price with deliverables itemised.

Is Salt a performance agency or a creative agency?

Both, and the two are inseparable at Salt. Creative that cannot be measured and media with nothing worth running are equally ineffective. The same team owns both.

Does Salt only work with Brisbane businesses?

Salt is based in Albion, Brisbane, and works with clients across Australia. Discovery and strategy run in person for Brisbane clients and remotely elsewhere.

How long until I see results?

Paid search and paid social typically produce measurable results inside the first month. SEO compounds over six to twelve months. Every engagement reports on the first Tuesday of the month.

What happens after the first call?

Salt audits the accounts, website and competitors before a proposal is written. The findings are handed over either way. A proposal follows with fixed pricing and scope itemised.
